Steals & Deals – Pt 1 – Kohl’s
It was a week when nothing seemed to be going right. And when I feel overwhelmed, with no solution to whatever is bothering me, I go for walks. Usually REALLY long ones.
On this particular day I felt so much anger. Right now I can’t even remember what I was angry about, but I knew then, that if I didn’t breeze out and take a walk, the situation would have escalated even more than they already had.
So I threw on a sweater and some cut-offs (I don’t think I even bathed), put on my sneakers, stuffed some money into my pockets, and without a word I was through the door.
Instead of going left, I went right… then right again before I got to the highway… I must have walked maybe 3 miles when I finally came to a supermarket. I would buy myself an iced tea and sit under the trees and people watch for awhile.
But then I remembered! There was a Kohl’s department store around the corner. I quickly searched through my pockets. Who carries only $3 on the road walking to nowhere!! There it was… a $10 coupon/gift card that we received in the mail a couple weeks before. *shrug* “Oh well,” I thought, “it’s not much; it probably won’t be able to buy anything, but at least I can look around and lighten my mood.” I had initially intended to use it toward something for the house, but what the heck… maybe I should buy something for ME for a change.
If it’s one thing I love, it’s a good sale…or rather, a great purchase. After maybe an hour of looking through racks and shelves of not-so-discounted items, I can’t believe what luck I had to find two really wonderful items to put the hugest smile on my face!!! All for the grand sum of $1.07!!! Yes, you read that right. One deggeh-deggeh dolla and seven cents (US$). Give thanks for that extra $10 which was what made this fantastic purchase SO WORTH that hell long walk!!
My purchase? A pair of LC Lauren Conrad floral dress shorts, and a pair of turquoise crocheted flats. Yes, I got a pair of shoes out of that deal!
I felt like how I imagine those Extreme Couponers feel when they go to the register and get groceries for free!!
I think this had definitely spawned a new category on Chineyphat.com!! Look forward to more Steals and Deals coming your way soon!!
*sigh* I love shopping!

i used to work at Kohls and am very familiar with their pricing strategy…you can always get deals there if you’re willing to be patient and take your time. i still have a $21 sweater that i’ve kept since 2002 and is still in excellent shape.

Those shoes are real cute, two items for under $10 oh the joys of bargain shopping!
AnonymousDecember 9, 2011I’ve been browsing oinlne more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be much more useful than ever before.

OMG!! My husband and I are alyaws comparing every pizza we order toPaquini’s Pizza (Pleasantville). We crave it still, after 40+ years, and mourn it’s passing. Always wondered why no one bought the recipe from the Paquini’s. I can’t wait to try out the Black Cats pizza .so excited. Best Pizza ever.
